Shaved Hamster - Somewhere Between Fuzzy and Clean
Artist Summary
Genres: Alternative / Indie / Rock
Management: Amy T Baxter
Artist Bio
A gifted singer song writer, a cherry red Gibson ES 335, a local artist and a Spooky kid are the elements in the big bang that formed Shaved Hamster late in 2009.
Amy T Baxter, former singer of Alternative/Indie bands Black Janet and Betty at the Station decides to take a “cool down” period from performing while she earns her master’s degree in Physical Therapy. During this cool down period however, her ever expanding musical universe continued to bend and shape within her soul till it could no longer contain itself.
Enter local artist with a sense of humor. Stewart Jennings at the time was in a phase of high productivity turning out painting after painting. This luckily set in motion a spark that set ablaze an inferno within Amy to get back to her love of writing music .
Enter a cherry red Gibson ES 335. After expressing her desire to getting back to her true love of writing and performing, Stewart decides to buy Amy a new guitar and asks her to start a band with him. With no experience in playing or writing music, it was more a playful gesture to become involved creatively for support and be her #1 fan. Soon it becomes very apparent that they make an excellent writing team and take it to the next level. In early 2010 Amy and Stewart start a music project they name Shaved Hamster (the name is another story and it’s probably not what you’re thinking) .
Enter the Spooky kid. Amy enlists long time friend and musical icon Scott Putesky co-founder and former lead guitarist of Marilyn Manson to help form Shaved Hamster’s sound in the studio.
Amy and Stewart enter studio with over 30 songs and record twelve of them for their debut album “Somewhere Between Fuzzy and Clean”.
Shaved Hamster’s debut album is scheduled to be released in January 2011. You can currently find several single releases from Shaved Hamster on Amazon and other popular music download websites.

Somewhere Between Fuzzy and Clean: 1. Hot Rod Hey sugar
Sugar sweet
Looks like something that I’d like to eat
It’s been
A long time
So far too long where the sun doesn’t shine
So light it up
And make it nice
Welcome to the land of my sacrifices
You take it on
I’ll be there on the right line
I scream it
I feel it (dream)
I’m gonna make it mine (all the time)
Hot Rod, Sonic killer, Super Sonic 2x’s
In between
The light of day
Just to hear the words that somebody said
So stop quick
But don’t you think
There is no way that I’d let you win
So fired up (uuup)
And running tight
Running my hands up my own device
Spin you out
The other way
Leave you in the lust of my yesterday
You take it on
I’ll be there on the right line
I scream it
I feel it (dream)
I’m gonna make it mine all the time
I scream it
I feel it (dream)
I’m gonna make it mine all the time
Hot Rod, Sonic killer, Super Sonic
You’re gonna make it, but first
You got to face it, and then
You’re gonna break it to make it, but
You got to get up, stand up, to make it all work
Don’t you see inside my dreams
I’m holding back the seven seas
The family trees are looking back at me
Take this branch and believe in me
You’re gonna make it, but first
You got to face it, and then
You’re gonna break it to make it, but
You got to get up, stand up, to make it all work
Oh yes it’s a battle scene
One man’s lost and one man’s free
War rages on inside our heads
You want help, well help yourself instead
You’re gonna make it, but first
You got to face it, and then
You’re gonna break it to make it, but
You got to get up, stand up, to make it all work
Tue, 11 Jan 2011 12:00:06 -0000 Somewhere Between Fuzzy and Clean: 5. Too Heavy You will break me, that’s true
Shine me up and make me you
I can’t see now because you
Built me like a wall then smashed through
Fell so hard and fast against you
Make me walk around like a fool
I can’t sleep now because you
Cut me open, I bled through
You are too heavy on my heart
Weighed down, too heavy to walk on
Two loves – Lost in a mind storm
You will break me, that’s true
Shine me up and make me you
I can’t see now because you
Built me like a wall then smashed through
You are too heavy on my heart
Weighed down, too heavy to walk on
Two loves – Lost in a mind storm
Tue, 11 Jan 2011 12:00:04 -0000 Somewhere Between Fuzzy and Clean: 8. Deception I stand in dull skies
A lone hand delivering smiles
In the shade
Low tide reveals
A witness who wants a childhood
But I, I swam hard
Out, to a ship
I swam so long
And I heard a sound
And I awoke
Deception
But I
I’ve searched
Myself
In the room
I looked around
As I look around
I wonder if
I’m making the same mistakes
I’ve been up and down
It’s really something to see
You thought you’d reach right through me
But it doesn’t matter to me
I don’t know if I know
And you don’t need to know
It’s all beyond the stage
and resurrected to be
You trip on the one good chance
Only you can’t see
This time will come to pass
Just you wait and see
Take a left but take it right
Right in front of me
I don’t know if I know
And you don’t need to know
Do you eat God
God’s on the Bar-B-Q
I don’t know if I know
And you don’t need to know
Thu, 20 May 2010 12:00:03 -0000 Somewhere Between Fuzzy and Clean: 10. Don't Lose Your Head You walked a mile in my shoes, that's you
You part the waters to walk on through, that's you
You think the world revolves around you, that's you.
Don't lose your head up town, now honey
You're worth more than just money
Hey you, yeah you, what are you trying to prove
Yeah you, karma will be catching up with you
You scaled a mountain in the shape of you, that's you
You swim the ocean as deep as you, that's you
You paint flowers in the scent of you, that's you
Don't lose your head up town, now honey
You're worth more than just money
Hey you, yeah you, what are you trying to prove
Yeah you, karma will be catching up with you
You sit around and watch the tube, that's you
You drink cheap wine and suck valium, that's you
You can’t handle the truth about you, that's really you.
Don't lose your head up town, now honey
You're worth more than just money
Hey you, yeah you, what are you trying to prove
Yeah you, karma will be catching up with you
Hey you, what are you trying to prove
Yeah you, karma will be catching up with you
